The 15th Brazilian Conference on Accounting and Independent Auditing by Ibracon (Brazilian Institute of Auditing and Accounting) provided two days of intensive knowledge exchange, in-depth discussions and meaningful reflections on the future of accounting and auditing in Brazil and around the world, as well as on the transformations the sector is experiencing.

Roberto Ferreira, Senior Audit and Accounting Advisory Manager at MCS Markup, highlighted the advancement of artificial intelligence as one of the central themes of the Conference. AI promises to improve efficiency and precision in analyses, is increasingly present in organizations’ daily routines and is transforming the way professionals handle data, processes and audits, as well as directly reshaping the work of accountants and auditors.

Another relevant topic was auditing as an agent of trust, grounded in principles of ethics, governance and transparency. These pillars are increasingly demanded by society and stakeholders, and are crucial for strengthening the integrity and credibility of financial information.

The integration of ESG (environmental, social and governance) practices into organizations’ strategies was one of the topics that generated the most reflection throughout the conference. In a global landscape of growing demand for corporate responsibility, accounting plays a fundamental role in validating companies’ actions in this area.

The conference also addressed the revision of Standards S1 and S2, new regulations that require companies and auditors to pay greater attention to aspects related to governance and corporate responsibility.
